We cannot imagine such a conflict situation occurring in the twenty-first century, when technology and every impossible story can be shared. No one wants to see children cry. They lose their parents, home, or even a memory that yesterday they were happy when playing with their friends at school.
Today, a wife must be separated from her beloved husband as a villager who defends their home or even an army that does not want to bring their weapon, although it’s his responsibility to snap with his bullet in the air. Everyone who lives in the digital era watches the sadness of people in several countries because of the world conflict that is happening. Due to our barriers, we just can suppose the worst situations without studying to understand the truth of the conflict.
Even though it’s impossible for us as new people in this world situation to get a deep understanding of the whole history of this conflict, fortunately, to understand humanity, we just need to be human. Regardless of your religion, nationality, ethnicity, hobbies, etc., we can stand for humanity without judging each other because we do not really understand history.
We can see the war, but our solidarity as civilians in this world means we can hold our hands together to keep our friendship and stand with humanity to live in peace and this is our speaking topic on Sunday, March 6th, 2022: “No one wants war to happen, no one wants to be a refugee.”
Here are our main questions that we will discuss:
- What do you know about conflict?
- What does “peace” mean to you?
- What can we do for refugees’ future?
